Half An Eye On The Net.

Some years back, I was the Area Sales Manager for a National company. One of my reps was a real handful to deal with. He was brilliant, thorough and meticulous. His customers thought that he was the best thing since sliced bread, the company were in awe of his achievements. There was one fly in the ointment however, I was his boss and he hated me.

He thought that I was sloppy, inattentive to detail and earning far too much commission over-rider on his business. He also thought that I was one of these people who could pull something off in minutes that would take him weeks to do. Cad!

I was aware that this guy was not a good publicity agent for me, however, I couldn't get rid of him, simply because he was so good at what he did. The trouble was that he bad-mouthed me to anyone and everyone. So, I formulated a plan!

I resolved never to speak about him to anyone, not positively nor negatively. What I would do, I decided, would be to prove him wrong and a liar too by my actions. I became more meticulous, more professional and more dilligent. I kept half an eye on his friends in the company and wowed them mercilessly with bon homie and helpfulness, so that eventually they decided that the salesman was wrong and that Yours Truly was a very fine fellow indeed. It worked!

His constant carping had tipped me off, and as a result I adjusted my actions so that he was proved to be in error.

Now...I just wonder. Could a similar thing be occuring in dubland? When we post our wrath against the witnesses, the beefs at Brooklyn or the whinges at the Watchtower via this site, do we actually tip them off as to how their own people may be regarding them?

Is it possible that Brooklyn keeps half an eye on sites such as this, so as to see which way the wind is blowing? Do they, when they dispense new light, have it in mind that such new light will be subjected to intense scruting via the internet? Do they tone things down or pretty them up because of what folk at this site might say and then tell others who are still witnesses?

In short, is it possible that this site may have actually forced the WT to adjust it's behaviour, even if it has only done so out of fear of what will be broadcast globally via the internet and eventually to it's adherents?

Maybe we have all helped to modify Brooklyns behaviour!

The U.N. fiasco is proof of that.

Well, maybe. That & the fact that they are getting the sh*t sued out of them, & TONS of bad publicity in the last year or so.

Seriously, you probably have a good point. As HS says "they have cunning to burn."

Well, we know for a fact that they monitor this & other sites to "discover" spies amongst them, or bad little JW's.

And, from what I've been hearing lately, it does appear they are toning down some of their "beliefs" and slowly mainstreaming. So, perhaps us "apostates" should be commended for helping them! Doubt we'll get any "applause" in any articles anytime soon though
