If the nature of truth is such that it must be accepted universally in order for it to exist, then is it true to say that if truth were not accepted universally, truth does not exist. If so, why?

No, because your original premise is incorrect. Truth does not need to be accepted at all to exist. The world was still round even when people believed it to be flat. Whether a statement is true or not does not depend on how many people believe it, only on whether it corresponds to reality.

Funny.
Where did you get the idea that truth had to be believed universally before it could be truth?
Anyhow, I just thought it was a funny thread.
