Why are you here?

  Proplog2 left a post the other day saying that they are "cured" and therefore leaving the site.

  This got me to wondering...... Why are we here?

  I tend to think that most of us are "cured", I think many of us have put the JW experience behind us.

  Personally, I am here for several reasons.

  1. To keep updated on what is going on within the organization, as it interests me. I have several friends and my son still involved, and I need to know the latest.

  2. I like many of the people here. I have not had a chance to meet many of them in person yet, but I enjoy their posts.

  3. I like hearing different viewpoints. Many of us disagree on a variety of topics, but that is what makes it all fun!

  4. Gives me a break from work.

  Why I am here? Good question!!

  I am here for healing and to heal others who have or are in similiar circumstances. Its about giving and receiving gifts.

  Recovery is a healing process. I can trust it, even when I don't understand it. I am right where I need to be in this process. I am going through exactly what I need to experience. And where I am going is better than any place before.

  I don't see myself cured from my experience as a jw. Its part of my history. To come to a point I can say to myself that I have grown from the experience and to contiune to grow. For I find it scarey of being stuck in that crap and not move on.

  That was the main reason I came to this site to find ways to take care of myself. I will know in time when its time for me to move on.

  I have been here a couple of years ,during which my home circumsstancces and relationship with the cong has not changed , ie, an inactive pub. now viewed as disbelieving husband.

  My resolve has strenghthened .

  I come here to share experiences, to be reassured that I am not the only one to see things in my way and that I am not mad, demonised or otherwise one halfpenny short of a shilling !

  Perhaps between us we can influence just one young person to see the sense of it all and prevent them from wasting their life like I did. Then it would be all worthwhile
