Ever since my dad passed on, I've been barraged by relatives telling me to "Come back to Jehoover." I was over at my grandmother's house for a family dinner and they were barraging me again. It got so annoying that I decided to do what I always do whenever I'm stressed or bored, which is do artwork, especially caligraphy. I wrote on my arm blasphemous statements in 3 languages; Spanish (Dios No Existe), German (Gott ist Tod) and French (Baise L'Deiu). My aunt happened to know Spanish and she read the part that says "Dios no Existe" (God doesn't exist.) Her husband then got pissed off and started a fight with me, saying "Don't bring that apostate thought here." I then told him "Look at your truth, it's made you attack somebody that gives perfect arguments against it." and he was pissed off even more.

I was about to go to my house (Which is a block away.) and get a crowbar and beat the living daylights out of him, but then I remembered that they always say people go to jail when they reject Jaraczhovah, so I went to a neighbor's house and cooled down.

I may not believe in the bible as a prophetic book, but this makes me think and how dubbies act in exactly the way how the bible predicted false prophets would behave, right down to using god's name to prophecy.

I am glad you thought better about the crowbar my friend. Good move! You are better than they are, walk on by and don't let them piss you off. They will bait you and try to engage you in useless debates. Every word you utter gives them a toe-hold to turn your words around on you. Just smile and shake your head. You will never regret not giving in to their crap, trust me on this. I've been on both sides of this issue. Duck and dodge and live well and don't give them any power. I'm also glad you thought better about the crowbar. Perhaps you could ease off of the blasphemy and things won't be so rough? Although it is a tired saying, "you can attract more flies with honey than vinegar." I would hesitate to piss off your family, you never know when you might need them.

OMG CRR! So sorry to hear about your dad. This must be a hard time for you and your relatives too, so emotions are bound to get out of hand at times like this.

I am sorry to hear about the confrontation at your Grandma's house there. I know which of your aunts knows Spanish, sounds like she married a real winner....

But anyhow you're not going to get through to them, no matter how hard you try. Glad you backed off from the confrontation. Hopefully things will keep cool and you all can just agree to disagree.

Again most of all, sorry about your dad.

You can express yourself, and before you know it, everyone KNOWS exactly how you feel without you trying to give an extensive painstaking explanation of 'what it's like to be a Jehovah's Witness'.

I'm glad you shared with us your feelings; despite the loss of your father.

Sorry to read some of the comments that have been tossed so wontonly towards you.

But at least here: you can pretty much express yourself, and WE KNOW what it is like.
