Yes probably millions by now, it would be a fair assumption that one half of the JWS members are in a broken apart family, where they are instructed to not talk or associate with certain family members who have left the organization.

    Great post Stuck!

I was told by a friend (who is studying with a JW) that the shunning policy is different now. They don't shun people like they used to. I told him that is not true. These videos prove it.

I believe this cult is an al a carte organization. You pick and choose what you want to do. As long as everything looks clean and shiny to everyone looking on. If you do the JW tasks (aka you are spiritual) all is well.

We watched several Elders sending their kids off to college. A direct no no from WT. This shunning policy is no different. Some families have no problem with associating with DF'ed ones and those who have faded. This is why WT is coming down hard on these topics. The problem is, WT speaks out both sides of it's mouth. They print comments like the one he showed in the video...“No one should be forced to worship in a way that he finds unacceptable or be made to choose between his beliefs and his family”, then they make videos like these. The hypocrisy is just staggering!

Nothing can grow and flourish in a sterile environment. I was struck by how cold and sterile everything looked in the home, the KH, everything.

No wonder the son got out. Staying in that sterile environment would have killed him sooner or later.

It has come dangerously close to breaking up ours. Thankfully we are both working on keeping the family together.

We shall see how it turns out.

So are the GB now saying that kids who leave home and no longer want to be a JW are to be shunned even if they havn't been disfellowshipped?
