We all know that one of the major advantages the society now has with everything being on its official website, is the ability to quickly change content when they desire.

So older articles that show them to have made mistakes, are simply re-written or edited...or even just deleted! Simple! "Nothing to see here...carry on"

I found this great short clip that reminded me of this phenomenon:

You call saying different things at different times a phenomenon? If that's not a sign of being influenced by a cult, I don't know what is.

I have kept a couple of embarrassing hard copies of old Wt and w magazines just in case they become useful.

I spoke with a JW about this some years ago, and he could see nothing wrong with such Ministry of Truth editing !

No, they can't see the harm. They say that they want to know what is taught now, not what was taught then. They just have no concept of being led astray. The K Halls around here have all got rid of their libraries and dumped the books "who needs them?" they say! We (wife and I ) tell them they are valuable antiquarian books , if nothing else, but they do not care.

The past goes "down the memory hole" to be ignored and forgotten.

    Poor fools!

Yep, the hall we used to go to had a big clean-up one day, and about 4 large boxes of society books were to be "thrown on the tip"

I protested and said "we were always told to "cherish our rich spiritual heritage", so we should keep these!

I was told by several elders that "we only need to keep the current 10 years worth of material"

Now, if that isn't re-writing history, and removing all awkward past material, then nothing is...

The Jehovahs Witness Religion /Organization is the only group I know of that is ashamed and embarrassed by its past history and continually destroys where it can and rewrites/revises their past history where they can.

Most, if not all other Religions/organizations are proud of their past and early history ,not so the Jehovahs Witnesses

Now that the WT can "update" their library on CD at will we will see more of this undoubtedly.

I wonder sometimes why other religious organizations dont call out the JW`s on their obvious backflips ,revising of their history and so forth and exposing them as frauds.

    @smiddy,

That's because JW are an irrelevant fringe sect. Why should other people even bother?

For a JW, JW are the center of the universe. In a JW mind, religious leaders and heads of state alike are discussing JW activity on a daily basis.

In reality, almost nobody knows them. Those who do, don't know anything beyond 'no Christmas' or 'no blood'. Which also sadly means they don't know the real nature of this cult.

How different would the world be without JW? Not at all (apart from some tens of thousands of families having different relations as most of us experience personally).

So true anders A sometimes I too forget how insignificant they really are.
