I remember reading about this guy when I was still in (I thought he was British, though, for some reason), and I could not, in good conscience, feel condemnatory about him (looking back, I think I always had reservations about the Org’s blood policy).
The WTS wouldn’t dare comment negatively about him… the resulting PR nightmare would crucify them.

I'm sure the cult leaders would explain, it's not whole blood it's only a fraction of the blood so it's ok. Also before 1950ish it would be ok. Although before 1974ish you would be disfellowshipped and condemned for taking it
