The Qld Government describes Domestic Violence as constituted by and inclusive of the following categories:
Physical Abuse (hitting / punching / shoving)
Emotional Abuse (eg. constant criticism)
Verbal Abuse ( yelling / swearing )
Sexual Abuse (from touching to rape)
Social Abuse (eg. isolating another)
Financial Abuse (denial of money)
Spiritual Abuse
Stalking
The description for the subheading "Spiritual Abuse" reads, and I quote
"telling you or others that you are evil or possessed by the devil, using Scripture out of context, forbidding you to seek counselling outside your religious group, forcing you to attend religious groups"
Is classic jwism against the law and an invasion of rights? - Seems to be so
I do not know what the law is, but that is interesting info you have there!
Notice how the dubs don't ever come out and say, "ABSOLUTLEY POSITIVELY DO NOT GET PROFESSIONAL HELP IF YOU ARE DEPRESSED"... but they certainly imply it. They get you in they're reach, and then tell you that you need to be careful and that people have left the troof b/c of advice from doctors...
DUH!
Because the troof causes these problems!
They are spiritual abusers, no matter what. When you are in that state of needing help, like I was, they make you feel MORE GUILTY if you even consider help!
I think that's an invasion of rights-it's good to see it in black and white.May strike a cord with some who read it- it would've made me think...good find
They are, ar'nt they Shamus ?!
I remember being told when I was considering councelling to reconsider and to be careful; if I showed the councellor I was TOO down-he'd think the knowledge of Jehovah, the new system etc was'nt powerful enough to sustain me and I may put him off if he was ever called on...
no pressure....
I'm finally having help for the issue now- but I can't help feeling it's too little , too late really.
