Is someone asking you for personal references? When I was a HR Manager, I always checked professional references but I never checked personal references. Why would someone list a personal reference who was going to give bad information on them??

I always get asked for personal references... like 2. And 2 professional references.

I was HR manager, too, and never checked personal references, just professional ones. It's best to be prepared for the interview rather than sorry.

How many phones do you have? If you have a cell phone and your husband has one, there's 2 references right there. Just make sure to disguise your voice.
