If the whisky is for gifts why dispose of the boxes? If for a party why 12 bottles of identical spirits?

The circumstantial evidence that it is for his own consumption is compelling.

Spending 800 dollars on drink is immodest by any reasonable standard and reeks of hypocrisy.

I rarely support personal attacks even in the case of GB members but I would suggest with a little reservation that this is a scandal.

But you got to admit toward the obvious hypocrisy of the guy , the expensive Armani suits the Cadillac, the expensive Scotch .

The adherence of the vow of poverty, the condemnation of materialism is suppose to indicate true righteousness in the eyes of the faithful ones.

If Watchtower has "more money going out than they have coming in" wouldn't the money spent on the booze been put to better use. Like a contribution! I mean after all they need more money to build Kingdom Halls in Africa. lol

lastmanstanding: Has anyone called Warwick yesterday to ask?

Yes, I did...I called two different departments. Both individuals said they'd look into it. I told them I would make a follow-up call today.

I'm sure they're (Warwick) getting their share of inquiring minds wanting to know...

It's like Christmas in April for me...I'm having soo much fun with this...at WT's & Tony The Toxic Morris' expense of course!

It's been mentioned, without confirmation, that he's from a wealtjy family, from somewhere around Cranston Rhode Island..

What I do know is that while you can invent any story about anyone, it doesn't make it true or believable ... unless you have an audience of fools desperate to believe the sensationalist crap you're peddling.

It's almost as if cognitive bias doesn't go away just because you leave a cult!

Like a few of the Tony Backers on this site have said

Ridiculous to call people that are asking for evidence of the conclusions people are reaching "Tony Backers."

That's like calling people that want evidence of Russian collusion before making a judgment on it "Trump supporters."

At what point in the video did he dispose of the boxes? Some were in boxes, and some weren't.

I thought this was the case too because others were saying it elsewhere, but I went back and watched, and nowhere does he dispose of boxes.

The circumstantial evidence that it is for his own consumption is compelling

But it's not hard evidence of anything. The problem with jumping onto things like this is that it undermines credibility.

Child abuse scandals? People point to the "lies" of apostates and if people see they are lies, then why not those other things too?

It's just clickbait and the idea that anyone who questions it is a WTS loving cult member is just more evidence of the lack of balance and rationality that many exJWs have.

It reminds me of the tabloids / paparazzi that follow celebrities to get a snap of them doing something so they can slap some scandalous headline on it. The people who hate them or love them lap it up but it's really drivel.

Please let me know when anyone has any actual news of actual worth. This isn't it.

Simon, while I agree that on the face of it, he isn't doing anything wrong, and that the vast majority are making speculative statements and running with theories, creating rumors, ol Tight pants is worthy of scrutiny and is actually doing something inappropriate.

Were you not, as a witness, admonished regularly, from the platform, and through publication, not to cause your brother to stumble. Not to bring even the hint of reproach upon jehovahs name and the organization? Tony himself has chastised the entire 8 million sheep, as to what they wear, as to witnessing to everyone they come in contact with, lest they become blood guilty. He's regularly appeared on JW Broadcasting, and refers to the Caleb and Sophia cartoon. A cartoon in which one episode encourages young ones to donate their tiny amount of allowance, to the organization, instead of spending it on an ice cream. Given all he has said and endorsed, should he not hold himself to a higher standard? He requires that from his flock... How much more so should he be accountable? He is a hypocrite. He is arrogant. He is worthy of scrutiny, for this action.

I agree, the Cadillac is ridiculous. It's old. If it were new, or within a few years, yah, I might have a problem with that. But it's not. Those mentioning it, as though it's an immodest display or an "ah ha!" He's blowing the flocks donations on expensive materialistic status symbols, are grasping at straws. His trench coat and hat; its freaking raining outside, people. Nothing to see there except more grasping at straws. Speculation over who the booze is for, or if he's a drunk, it's all a stretch, and we aren't doing ourselves any favors making those kinds of accusations, without any conclusive evidence or proof.

...But, the position he holds. The status he elevates himself to, by being extremely vocal and going beyond what is written, insisting on his personal views when admonishing 8 million people, opens him up for our scrutiny. He is in the wrong here, by his own moral code.

The guy who shot the video told Cedars that all bottles have to be removed from boxes before you pay at the till — presumably a security measure. He told Cedars that Morris told the shop assistant to dispose of the boxes.
