The family Thirdson are off on vacation Saturday for a week. Two years after 9/11 Mrs Thirdson feels OK about flying again but I know she won't be at all happy until we touch down again. I chose a direct flight, even if not the cheapest, so as not to prolong the stress. But flying aside we should have a good time. We booked a condo in the Cannon Beach area, OR. It's not the best time to get away but it should be quiet.

Thirdson: Cannon Beach is simply, spectacular!
Back in June 1994, I spent an entire week in the Portland, OR. area, and also a full day on the Oregon coast.
Cannon Beach and surrounding areas are breathtaking. The nearby Ecola State Park, just a few kms. to the north, is worth it too. The community of Seaside, just north of there, is a bit more touristy. I'm with you: Cannon Beach.
It's too beautiful for words, and I have some incredible pictures of my trip there. One of my top 10 favourite moments in my life, was spent there.

Welcome to Oregon (been saying that a lot lately).
I guess it's warm if you're from Minnesota - but I'm from Cali originally, and beaches are supposed to be warm darnit.
Spend some money while you're here, we can use it:)
