Here is the part that I personally found most disturbing:
In a strongly worded statement, President Bush blamed Palestinian officials for the attack, which wounded another American. "Palestinian authorities should have acted long ago to fight terror in all its forms," Bush said.
Bush may very well be correct. But if he is correct, that is exactly the argument that the Israelis have been making for some time. Why is it that Bush suddenly accepts it when Americans are the victims?
I know that there are different opinions here on the Israel-Palestine conflict... and I don't want this thread to turn into a debate on that subject. I think that, whatever view you hold on the conflict, it is troubling that a single attack (a small one compared to all the atacks against Israeli civilians) would suddenly make Bush change his mind.
