  The Society's spiritual iron curtain has broken down.It cannot keep many witnesses from reading books and other publications put out both by ex-jw's and others attacking the society root and branch.Nor can it keep witnesses in the industrial world from reading similar information on the internet.

  Further,there is a suggestion that the society is being undermined by a growing underground movement obtaining information,somestimes from the society's headquarters itself,to aid in exposing its doctrines and activities.

  The future for the society does not look bright.

  Quite true, Blueblades,

  In this past Sunday's WT study article, the leaders in all seriousness recommended recourse to its own publications as the definitive source of input on a wide variety of societal problems; i.e. heath, employment, finances, etc. Pity anyone who takes this ``advice" seriously!

  Child witnesses from recent years weren't raised during the manic hey day of the 1975 debacle or the 1914 generation phobia. I think the future looks brighter for kids today than when I was a kid for gettting a grip on reality. These kids will not stay away from apostate sites as they contemplate their future. I forsee that this is where the Society's curtain really comes down.

  Now if they found a way to engage all the kids and young teens they way other religions do.... the kids probably wouldn't care. However, in my opinion the JW church has never given more than passing glances at kids..... mostly just encouraging members not to have any.

  Yet, as I pointed out in an early thread, if JWs, in the U.S. at least, refrained from having kids at a rate close to the general public, from where would they get any increases?

  When Russia dropped their Iron Curtain, then the information began to pour in. There was no longer only the opinion of the authority once the people had access to information from outside the authority.

  The internet is the biggest threat to the WTS without a doubt. They cannot hide from it.
