And if the blue gills were exposed to enough of the antidepressant, the drug would likely have similar effects in the fish that it does in humans.
?They would be happy fish,? Brooks said.

?If we release something in the environment, we need to understand what will happen to it,? Brooks said.

    DOH! How profound.

Who knows WTF is in the water nowadays? Pretty scary ... who needs Hallowe'en?

It's inane comments like this that prove how little we can trust the 'scientific community'.

The scientific community has reported the problem. Of course, the scientific community can be blamed, but it usually, eventually "tells" on itself, and that is far more honest behavior than what we observe in the JW leaders. We all have the JW community in common here. The scientific community is refreshingly honest when compared to the JW environment.

I guess I don't see the inanity of the statement. Sure, it's simple, and it's common sense, but it's also profound in a world where people indeed do release things into the environment with no concept of what will happen down the line. As if what goes down the drain is magically transported to outer space. No, it ends up in my hometown lake, so I'm happy

Why do you infer that the scientific community can be trusted "little"? Do you think they, those people, y'know, scientist.... *spits* ...are conspiring to mislead us, the common people, the salt of the earth, the unedumecated, the real truth seekers in our churches and our game rooms?

Someplace around Luling Texas there are high naturally occuring deposits of lithium. In the Karnes County Fall City area there are uranium deposits, and the working men used to traipse home covered in the dust. In Kenedy there are natural hotsprings (with sulphur).

But I don't think this has affected the fish.

Do some research. Just to mention an obvious example,

"TOBACCO CONSUMPTION" scientific community was/is the whores of the tobacco magnates for decades. That's just one example.

We can debate this in detail if you want to give me some time to do specific research.
