They Need 5X More Money Than Pioneers! (Dec 1 Wt)

The Dec. 1 Watchtower is very remarkable - it is rare to read such a forthright article begging for money.

I don't recall any such appeal except when the Society went into a panic over their 'voluntary donation arrangement'

    some years ago.

The article contains about 10 paragraphs concerning the need for more money ( "tithing", "material goods")

but ONLY TWO about pioneering! In fact, the two that appeal for more pioneers seem out of sequence,

out of place... ( "Oh yeah, we better throw in something about pioneering, we don't want to be seen as money grubbing....")

Taken together with OTHER recent Watchtowers about money - and the November KM - I'd say something

remarkable is happening. Whatever their claimed increase may be, the hard cash comes from Europe, the US and

Japan - places where trouble is brewing........

They're begging in the Dec 1st Watchtower as well as the Nov 1st?

I guess perhaps they finally figured out that Pioneers don't make much money.

    Pios up = Donations down

Yes, and the Nov KM too. More "reminders" about donations

That remind me of what my father used to say when brothers encouraged him to work less and do pioneering: "when everyone would be pioneer their would be no donations". After all he was right.

I wonder what my Aunt will say about this. She has always said that one of the key reason's for her leaving the Catholic Church was that they never passed around a collection plate at the Kingdom Hall.

    Integ.
