Hello all! As of late, I've been considering doing a musical solo project. Recently, my band fell apart. Our drummer quit, and then I did. The problem was the other 2 members had no desire to get out an play a show. All they wanted to do was jam in their basement, and record CDs. Pretty crappy way to operate a band if you ask me. I was with them for a year, and we had the argument many times about going out to play a show.
Last night, I met up with an old buddy of mine. His son's girlfriend was playing a show at a little coffee shop, so I went to check it out. This girl was doing her own solo thing. She wasn't incredible, and not very confident, but hell, she was doing her own thing. Her songs were somewhat mundane as well as her covers, but the last song was pretty damn good. This was all quite inspiring.
I've been working on my own website for the past little while to promote my musical abilities. I'll be putting that up hopefully sometime in the next couple of weeks. There will be songs available that I have recorded in my previous bands. For my first single, I've planned on doing a recording of the song that made me "famous" in the Karaoke scene - "My Boy Lollipop" done chipmunk style LOL!
Basically, I'm just sick of working with stupid people.
