Here we go!!! (figures for the USA)

    Oct 2000 93,338
    Nov 2000 92,940
    Dec 2000 92,920
    Jan 2001 90,477
    Feb 2001 90,334

and March (drum roll, please!) - 89,963

What about it, Brooklyn? Is it time for another
cut in hours to get the beaten, whipped sheep
to continue dragging themselves door to door to
    sell your magazines?

The June KM has a 4 page insert on getting brothers
to volunteer for Bethel. Requirements? "Baptized
for at least one year", "A spiritual person with a
deep love for Jehovah and his organization".

Remember when you had to be a pioneer to get in?
Remember when you had to promise to stay four years? (now one year)

It's all like an old mechanical clock.

The 4 year requirement for Bethel was dropped in the mid-70's. It was a 1 year commitment when I went in 1978. Most of the bethelites in my entry class were pioneers though.

When I left in the mid 90's, I thought it was still a requirement to be a pioneer for a year (more then a year usually, unless you had a special skill that they needed).

How can anyone be a "A spiritual person with a deep love for Jehovah and his organization" when they have only been "Baptized for at least one year"? ....I find this almost impossible.

And why would you pioneer when you cover the territory in many areas between 2 to 6 weeks on average? Isn't this like flogging a dead horse?

Pioneer numbers are dropping, truly the light is getting brighter and some are realizing they are door to door salesmen for a Corrupt Governing body (i.e. board of directors)who don't pay anything, and could care less about the R&F sales force. Hopefully, the light will keep on getting brighter and more R&F will depart this corrupt bunch. Buff

    Metatron,

Those are quite alarming figures for the WT. Despite its relaxed hours limit it hasn't done much to keep the ranks up.

    A couple of questions:

    1. How many aux pioneered in October and March?
    2. What was the number of regular pioneers before the hour limit changed and what did it peak at?

The decline could well escalate. No one likes to pioneer alone and if one gives up the partner does also. You have to remember that this is an overall number and many more leave each year but are replace by new pioneers. If the average life span of a pioneer is 3 years 30,000 would leave the ranks and about the same number would join every year. Does anyone have a number for the average duration of pioneer service?
