I worked yesterday finishing up a project which had consumed this whole past week. So, after I cleaned up I hopped into my pick-up and drove to the beach. Long drive, about a mile! The sun was in it's daily death struggle with the Gulf of Mexico. Flashing and brusting with vivid contrasting colors aganist the horizon. A warm breeze, the course sugar sand, the muffled whoosh of the surf, all added to this rich sensory experience. And as I sat there watching the crimson and orange light dance off the turquoise water, I was at peace with my little world, if not but for just those few minutes. When I got off the sand, I looked around and there was the moon working on a lunar eclipse!
Everywhere I have traveled, I have seen things like this. Each place has those special spots that the locals can go to anytime to just 'take it in'. But because they are so readily available the locals just never bother. "It will be there tomorrow." But will you?
So think about this, make the effort to 'take in' those special places and go, even if it is for half an hour, and enjoy the moment. Maverick
