This weekend I upgraded my phone and signed a new contract... but lucky me did it on a weekend when some freak'in moron decided to shut down telephone customer support, their support web site, and their WAP internet access... all at the same time... all weekend long.

Right now I'm seriously pissed off with a simi-functional phone.

Anyone else have a company screw them over like this?

I could write a novel about all of my frustrations with SprintPCS. The first 15 days, I had my phone shut off over nine times. All due to them not signing me on the correct plan when I first started with them. Jeez, what a nightmare!

I've had Cingular too. I was mislead about their coverage and terrible reception. Dumped them.

I had AT&T for years. Really liked them, but they just don't offer the kind nationwide-no roaming that I need at a reasonable price.

No problems with Cingular for me. In fact, they subtracted $22 bucks from my bill once after I called to find out why I had been billed for so many text messaging minutes - it turned out that my kid's friends were texting from their PCs and this gets billed the same as regular text messages. Even though the fault was mine for being ignorant, they took off the charge and that's not even what I asked for.

I shoulda went with Cingular. I'm with another co. that doesn't offer rollover minutes. I rarely if ever use all my monthly allotment of minutes.

I thought this was a thread about me, I used to be a cingular moron, but I'm married now.

Does that make me any less a moron???

I used to have cellular service with MCI Worldcom until the scandal tore the company apart and their cellular division went belly up.

They sent a mailing out to all their customers telling them that if they wanted to keep their current cell phone number, they had no choice but to choose service with a fly-by-night company called Liberty Wireless.

Thus began my cellular nightmare. You can read the account at: http://www.rationallunacy.com/loonybin/wc.html

As of November 24th of this year, anyone who is dissatisfied with their cellular service may switch to another company and still be able to retain their current cell phone number. According to this evening's news, they are estimating 18 million people will subscribe to a different service.

I will be one of them.
