have any of you owned or used a metal detector? what did you think of them and are there any brands you would recommend? i am considering buying one as it sounds like a fun thing to do on the weekends. thanks

No, but I can hardly wait for responses to this topic....I've been considering getting one for ol' Crabby Pants for Christmas....give him something interesting to do with all his spare time....and possibly profitable.....in a small way...

no never had, but a friend had one and find lots of (little) things - coins in he week-ends.
He surely enjoyed it.
