"It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine."
From my childhood, I believed it was the end of the world and the paradise earth would be something I would soon be in. I felt that the events of this world, indicated signs of what was to soon come. I found joy in earthquakes, in government problems and major events that strengthened my faith. It always reminded me of the REM song, "The end of the world", and the lyrics sampled above. Despite all that was happening, " ... I feel fine." When I think about that though, and realize the comfort I felt on a personal level for the global problems of the world. I don't feel fine. Why?
Could you imagine having someone's child die and laughing at their funeral with joy? Could you imagine being at the scene of a flood with bodies buried in the sand and smiling from the rescue team with pride? Could you even imagine, seeing woman and children killed in a third world country and having a party in their town to celebrate? You probably couldn't do this kind of thing, and yet Witnesses do it every day of their life. Why do I say this?
Simple, when these things happen and they read about them or see them on the media. Outside they are saying, "that is too bad!" While inside they are thinking, "Yes!!! This is it and the end will come soon." Comfort in others pain, pride in the downfall of others and joy from the negative events of this world. All of which can be summed up in one thought, "It's not mentally healthy."
As human beings and fellow residents of this planet. We should not be seeking to find joy in the harm of others. Even the Witnesses quoted the Psalms, "the one loving violence .... Jehovah hates." In such a common mixing up of worlds, that the Witnesses were known for, this was used to teach people not to find joy in movie violence and yet it's application of finding joy in the violence of the world was lost. Some may say, "I never experienced that joy" and if that is so, great. Yet the gleam of happiness I saw in Witnesses eyes, as they stated such common things as, "earthquakes in one place after another" and "this is what happens when men ignore god's rule." Following such terrible events, is enough to tell me that others did. Besides, did Witnesses ever show any desire to help those who suffer?
I don't know about others, but I was never involved in or knew of any organized charity work with Witnesses, that benefited anyone other then their own followers. I never witnessed us, as a congregation, ever showing any love or support to those who suffered in our community, unless a convert was in question and an increase in the ranks of the religion's followers was possible. I never really felt like we cared about the worlds other 6.9 billions occupants, unless we were finding joy in their pain. As we felt it was a sign of the end to see them suffer so.
If this truly is an end of some time frame, and there is an end to come. It seems so sick to think that we would find happiness in all the suffering and death, that such an events would bring about. Yet, with reality, comes common sense and this is not, "the of the world" and when terrible things happen and people suffer, "I do not feel fine." I feel human, and with that I feel the proper pain and sorrow that my heart should produce. Nice to know that feeling, and how much better it makes me feel, to actually do something about those feelings now. By supporting my felllow residents and not just being their to laugh at them.

Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives
and I decline."

It is very apperant that Witnesses do find joy in others destruction and lot in life. They feel no sorrow for anyone in need, and only look blindly toward's god's "new system" (tm). The way that they really feel? In car groups, laughing at someone whom they had just called on.... just sick individuals. Would Jesus do that? Would he have laughed at someone in pain? No. How much more so the witnesses should not.
They are horrible beyond anything I have ever seen.

Avoiding
the Wine Press of God?s Anger"I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the peoples there was no man with me: yea, I trod them in mine anger, and trampled them in my wrath; and their lifeblood is sprinkled upon my garments."?Isa. 63:3, AS.
IF YOU can avoid having the very life crushed out of you, will you not be glad to know how you can do so? The field called Armageddon, where the "war of the great day of God the Almighty" will be fought, will be like a tremendous wine press for all mankind. Comparatively few of this generation of mankind will escape being crushed to everlasting death there. You may avoid this crushing experience and share in all the joy, singing and shouting that will both accompany and follow the treading or trampling of this global wine press. How may you do so? It is worthwhile knowing.
