I recall reading that Daniel 12 verse 12 ( 12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.), was claimed to have been fulfilled by the Cedar Point Ohio convention in 1922.

Can anybody recall which publications this claim was published in please?

Or even better, a screen shot.

Is this still thought today or has Jehovah changed his mind and shed new light on the fulfilment and if so, what is it now please?

I think one flew over the cukoos nest at that convention. Some of their insanity can be found here:

  • w60 6/15 pp. 377-381
  • Part 40—“Your Will Be Done on Earth”
  • Here's their timeline:

Began the end of January, 1919

Ended the first half of September, 1922, at the second Cedar Point (Ohio) convention

“THE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-FIVE DAYS” (Daniel 12:12, AT):

Began the first half of September, 1922, at the second Cedar Point (Ohio) convention

Ended in the month of May, 1926, at the London (England) International Convention

“TWO THOUSAND AND THREE HUNDRED EVENINGS AND MORNINGS” (Daniel 8:14, RS):

Began in the month of May, 1926, at the London (England) International Convention (May 25-31)

Ended on October 15, 1932, with the official publication of notice in The Watchtower

    More recently, Pay Attention to Daniel's Prophecy, 2006, p.303 para.24 said :

Jehovah’s angel concludes his prophecy regarding the holy ones with these words: “Happy is the one who is keeping in expectation and who arrives at the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days!” (Daniel 12:12) The angel gives no clues as to when this period begins or ends. History suggests that it simply follows on the heels of the preceding period. In that case it would run from the autumn of 1922 to the late spring of 1926 (Northern Hemisphere). Did the holy ones come to a state of happiness by the end of that period? Yes, in important spiritual ways.

I think the original "Revelation-its Grand Climax Book" had this insane nonsense in it, but it may have been changed later ?

They studied that trash about three times in the old Home based Group Studies !

There is a Wt reference of 1993 that discusses it and repeats the same thing. It still seems current teaching.

That is the most recent I found on 1,335 days. This is a teaching that has fallen by the wayside, rather than "clarified" like the 7,000 year creative day, last mentioned in 1989 quoting from a 1987 publication. Books were edited to "correct" so that the WTS "encouraged" jws to get new copies rather than use older one! The links are linked to an ex-jw site, owner is an ex-Bethelite whose father is/was a circuit overseer. It is a timeline with quotes from WT publications and where it can be found in those.

Cedar Point, Ohio.....World famous...for....zip. They had a big roller coaster back then. I used to pester mom and the bookstudy about this when I was 10.....in the 60s.

More wasted time about a bronze age dream that only one guy had.

Chalk this up to a 20th-century charlatan.

Back in the day, Cedar Point was a very popular vacation spot with facilities for large crowds. Good rail service (before the era of flight and before car ownership and driveable roads), hotels, buildings available for speeches, etc. It was kind of like the Disney World of the time. There is still an amusement park there of considerable size. I've never been to it, but I know people who have.

Curiously, the 1931 Convention where they adoped the JW name was also in Ohio, at the Ohio State Fairgrounds in Columbus. The building where the name was adopted is still standing and is now a horse barn where the equestrian events are held. I went in there once to watch a horse competition and as I sat there smelling the horse crap I thought it quite fitting.
