My farther did these news/documentary projects for the WTBS. He once did a study on the number of mentally ill people who were Witnesses. The number was rather high. He was told to bury his project.

If that's true, it doesn't surprise me.
There's anecdotal evidence that back in the 90s, the bOrg was quietly looking into reported increases of severe depression amongst the rank-and-file.
Then, suddenly, they made the blanket statement that "Jehovah's Witnesses are the happiest people on Earth (period)."
Ten bucks says that - like your dad's research - the number turned out to be rather high (and, more troubling, that said depression was being worsened - or even caused by - aspects of WT ideology), and they buried it.
