Correspondence 1977-1980 between Carl Olof Jonsson and The Watchtower Society
COJ wrote the book "The Gentile Times Reconsidered." It is an excellent read to see just what the gb will do how they will treat anyone who dares to criticize the wt.
If you are into dates, times and events this is the book for you.
great author TGTR and The Sign of the Last Days When? are both must reads for any jw contemplating leaving
Thanks for Posting Anony mouse, for anyone doubting if those at the top of the JW/WT Org are total frauds, this proves that they are.
Ever since COJ wrote to them, ( if not before), they have known for sure that their 1914 date, and all that hangs on it, is a crock of shit.
Yet they have continued to teach it, to keep millions enslaved and contributing to their Scam.
Disgusting.
Thank you I will be reading these in detail later.
Basically the WTBTS's response was, "Very interesting brother, but keep your mouth shut, and do not discuss this with any other J.W.'s Just wait on Jehovah/His organization to come up with any new information. We're in charge of divulging what is"truth" - not you!"
Of course, every year that has gone by since this correspondence just widens the gap between reality and the "607BCE/1914/generation living in 1914 will see the end" false prophecy by the Watchtower.
In 1977/1980 time hadn't run out for Watchtower's (then latest) false prophecy. Of course it took a knock in 1975 but now over 40 years on it is simply ludicrous and is now only carried upon the creaking column of overlapping F.W.F as ex-Splaned on TV by jwdotborg.
If there were just one book to read on JW organization's flawed eschatology, "The Gentile Times Reconsidered" would be it. A superbly researched and written book that has not aged one iota.
In fact, as freddo states, the book is all the more compelling given how much time has passed since COJ first communicated with JW organization: The 1914 doctrine is now even more glaringly wrong.
Carl Olof Jonsson books were the first two books I read after reading Fanz's Crisis of Conscience.
