I have not said much to my youngest two kids about the JW crap ones 10 the other 5 . Anyway ive become an athiest and have studied alot about ancient religions. So the question is should i try to teach my smaller kids that the bible is crap and so is thier god or would that be going to far?

Probably your best bet is to teach them how to be critical thinkers.

If successful, they'll be able to figure that out on their own.

Yeah, teach them how to think, not what to think - you'll be setting them up for life.

Most kids are curious and have a natural cynicism that should be fostered and encouraged. Teach them how to ask the right questions and have the right balance of respect for authority but the ability to determine what authority is genuine and which is dangerous.

Kids see through who is telling them BS at some point. There is no need to use the WTS practices to fight them, education is enough.

    What Simon says:

Buy the book (download ) "Raising Freethinkers - A practical guide for parenting beyond belief."

This book has such great ideas how to help kids become free thinkers and also to counteract on indoctrination.

Your ten year old might be a little young for this document but when he gets a bit older you might want to bring it up to him. It provides a short list of Biblical contradictions and moral obscenities directly hyperlinked to the scriptures in question.

I'm just honest with my daughters. I don't talk down to them, I don't over complicate it. I'm just honest.

Tell a child what to think and they will never learn how to think. Teach them to think and you have done your job as a father well.
