That means "the site is slow but it's not my fault and there's nothing I can do about it". Well, I've upped the instance configuration to see if that will help.

I'm sure Google are working on the issue. Probably not by randomly wiggling cables and turning things off and on like I solve network problems but hey, they're the experts.

Are we going back to the old format at some point? It was faster, and the emoticons were easier and better.

I can't go back to the old database and languages, I just can't ... oh the nightmares.

Maybe I can do a legacy theme or something ...

But the new version will be faster. Works like an installable app (but no install required).

@slimboyfat - I won't get into all the logistics of why but @simon is doing the right thing. Not sure about the last incarnation but w/ labors of love a lot of it comes down to time and manageability too. As to speed in the no so distant future I think you'll be pleased by what's in the hopper etc.

Sorry, this still seems to be happening. I'm trying to tweak things to keep things running as smoothly as possible but much of it is outside of my control. I'll post more details when I have any.

I think certain gifted former posters left the forum at least in part because they liked the old format. So that's why I was asking.

The new app architecture will make applying different themes much easier so any legacy style or whatever that people liked will be possible but will probably be down on the list of priorities.
