"Age to Come" Christianity vs. Adventism

I often read that CT Russell was more influenced by "age-to-come" christians than adventist christians. What exactly is "age to come" christianity? What are some of its denominations? How do they differ from adventism?

Any reference works about the subject?

    Thanks

You say you've often read this. Where do you read this? It's new to me.

Most references I find are coming from the (excellent) work "A Separate Identity - Organizational Identity Among Readers Of Zion's Watch Tower 1870-1887" by B. W. Shulz and R. M. de Vienne (Fluttering Wings Press, 2014), but I've seen it in other places.

On a footnote of that book, there's this entry: "Age to Come is a biblical phrase. It was used early in the Millerite movement, but not always to Literalist doctrine. The term was not exclusive to Millerites and Literalists but being a biblical phrase was used by others". (p. 55)

Seems to me the authors are referring to churches that emerged from a subset of the Millerite movement (p. 56) BUT didn't evolve into Adventism?

I was thinking of buying that but it's a bit expensive. It talks about Age to Come?

I've only just started it, but yes it has been mentioned quite a few times

re; the very early days , and influences on Russell.

Before I started this book, I had never heard the term before .., but how much is provable ???

So far I am enjoying it though . Seems preety thorough

I had access to another excerpt of "Separate Identity" (I wish I could buy the work, but there's no e-book version):

Christadelphians and One Faith movement are considered Age to Come churches.

And, apparently, Age to Come faiths pre-date the Millerite movement.
