I just checked and in Britain, a trust can be taxed so I am wondering what is the benefit being taken off charity status?

As u can see I am not a legal person

It's all about protecting their beloved paedophiles and getting fine Whiskey to keep TOMO the turd drunk.

They have no love for anyone or anything else much.

    Truthlover126, the report states

Earlier this year, 1,279 Jehovah’s Witness congregations merged into national charity the Kingdom Hall Trust.

I read this as basically there are no longer a lot of small charities but just one big one, being the Kingdom Hall Trust which the reporter call a 'national charity'.

I don't get this... doesn't this type of action put them into further risks of lawsuits for anything done by any of the congregations under that big umbrella? I mean, before, they could try to sue a congregation and the best they'd get was everything that congregation had... basically, building + 20k? Now they can go for millions in that collective fund. Their need for authoritarian control over everything will bit them in the ass.

StephnieLaliberte, I am willing to bet, not a huge sum, I am a poor pensioner! but say £5.00, that this move, in some way, REMOVES the risk of Prosecution for J.W org itself.

Not being my field of Legal expertise I cannot imagine how, apart from this: the K.H Trust is both a charity and a Trust, that may alter things, in that individual J.W's, even Bodies of Elders, are only Donating to a Charitable Trust ,and cannot be considered Agents of that Trust/Charity, while engaged in the work that their Congregation does to make converts, and to conduct meetings etc. The individual perpetrator, and The Congregation could still be sued, but only for what assets they have. Not much in other words, the day to day expenses are now removed from the Congregation's responsibility, they all pay in to a Fund, and those expenses are paid from that. The Scam gets bigger !
