Theosophy and Anti-Gravity?

Antigravity? Well, the term used in theosophy is "levity", the polar opposite of gravity.

Theosophy has ventured into gravitational field theory?

Actually, I know nothing about theosophy. What is the nature of it? and where do they (the theosophists) get their knowledge from? Occultic sources? Has the WT ever published an article about theosophy?

    What is theosophy? Metaphysics?

(And, by the way, what is metaphysics?)

Theosophy was started by a russian, Helena Petrovna Blavatsky. She had some sufi (that's islamic mysticism) training. Also, there is a lot of buddhism and some hinduism in it. Alice bailey also did a lot of writings. She adopted a kid in india, Jiddu Krishnamurti, who was supposed to be the new world teacher. Ha ha, he shut down the org that bailey put him in charge of. Well, he tried, but theosophy still lives.

Antigravity theory? Wouldn't surprise me. But it wouldn't work, imo.

    What is metaphysics?

I don't know either but Woody Allen once related the story of how he failed his Metaphysics final in college. Evidently he was failed for cheating because he looked into the soul of the student sitting next to him.

Metaphysics/occult is knowledge of realities beyond the physical. Much of the modern New Age movement was actually based off of Theosophy (which was in turn based off of much older esoteric philosophies). I learned quite a bit from reading up on Theosophy. Except for their utterly ridicolous idea of "Root-Races", they've compiled a lot of useful information over the years. Based on what I've heard though, the Theosophical Society has become rather dogmatic over the years, and tend to blow their own trumpet more so than anything.

In case you're interested, they have an enormous glossary online:

    http://www.theosociety.org/pasadena/etgloss/adi-ag.htm

    It contains tons of information.

Either it exists or it doesn't. If it exists it can be measured. If it doesn't exist, it can't be measured. Therefore, metaphysics is a pile of doo doo. Simple as that. If I said that George Washington was sitting next to me while I write this, would you believe me. Well, I suppose that you could, but if you did, you would be goofy.
