So far here in Australia the federal govt has not convinced, has failed to get the Watchtower to sign up to the National Redress Scheme.
re Applewhites appointment by the watchtower. She was given the elders book which by watchtowers own requirements is not to be given to women..

Applewhite isn't even a JW, according to them, she's under the influence of Satan. If it fits their agenda, they'll do whatever they want and then scratch their heads when it backfires.

I couldn't believe the elders being called to the stand hadn't even bothered to follow to proceedings of the investigation. If it were me being called to court for something so serious you can guarantee I'd have read everything and watched everything even taking notes.
But then, I actually care about the welfare of children.

I cant recall the site but the Justice at the CARC said the jw elders had least knowledge of procedure and were the least prepared of any group to give evidence.
