Bible Teach chap. 11 pp. 110-111 par. 12 - "A clever but rebellious student claims that the teacher’s way of solving the problem is wrong. What should the teacher do?...All the other students in the class might lose respect for the teacher, thinking that he is afraid of being proved wrong. But suppose that the teacher allows the rebel to show the class how he would solve the problem."

So why don't they allow JW's to speak about their views in J.C. meetings? Afraid of hearing the truth?

Sounds like Jehovah treats Satan better than the WT treats "apostates"

JWs are not allowed to "make sure of all things and hold on to that which is fine". The FINE as been dictated to them and they must believe it or else...even when it changes. They can't test it out and discuss it with others for they would be stirring up contentions ( not allowed ) The WT would fight for freedom of speech, yet sensor and punish their members if they are known to be speaking differently than what the GB says is fine. ( reminds me of school children: I don't like her. You are my friend and I don't like her, so if you like her, you are no longer my friend).

Of course, the problem with this analogy is Genesis 11:6, NIV: "The LORD said, 'If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them."

Seems like when "the rebel" got close to solving the problem, the "teacher" (God) stepped in an thwarted his capabilities (this time by confusing the languages).

remember the illustration well. A self published, devastating suggestion by wt writers. because in the long run,

Students always come up with better solutions. see the Brahe, Kepler, Newton, Einstein chain of advancement.

Unlike wt old light, the equations of Kepler still work roughly for small orbiting objects.

wt is deadly afraid of exposing their problems to public scrutiny and listening to solutions, worse yet, to have the whole class see the comparison between their dysfunctional doctrinal house of cards and reality.

What if the student drove a better car or wore a more expensive suit than the teacher, too?

That's what it is. Question everything, except what we tell you.

The WTS stance, for a very long time, has been to give the impression that you can test what they say with the Scriptures to see if they are being truthful. But what they are specifically saying is that, if you test what they say with the Scriptures, you will see that they are being truthful. It's not a subtle difference! The latter is making clear that if you disagree with them, you are going against the will of Jehovah and are at risk of eternal death.

And it is not a matter of whether they got it right or wrong, but whether you followed them. If you test them and find that they got it wrong and you got it right, Jehovah is upset at you for getting too far ahead of his 'light.'
