Hi all, new member, have enjoyed reading all of your comments over the years. Does anyone know what happened to the Manchester convention listing on JW website? I'm not attending for the first time (hooray for me!) but just wondered why it isn't advertised in the list of conventions?

Interesting. The venue was the location of the bombing recently.

Should have been 30 June - 2 July 2017.
It's not listed on the venue website either.

might need someone 'still in' to enlighten us.
The only reasons I can think of are;
1) Security concerns or
2) Last minute cost saving strategy (we know where all the money is going) and send everyone to Liverpool & Leeds or possibly utilise the Northenden assembly hall over a few weekends.

They have moved it to Liverpool.
The Manchester Arena is still closed following the bombing.

The Manchester Convention was due to take place from 30 June to 2 July 2017 at the Manchester Arena - see the original list here:

The Manchester Convention has now been CANCELLED - and is being replaced by a NEW CONVENTION DATE in Liverpool - as per the official convention website:
https://www.ibsaconvention.org/
We regret that the regional convention in Manchester has been cancelled following the recent tragic events that occurred at the Manchester Arena. However, a new convention has been arranged to be held at the Liverpool Arena and Convention Centre (ACC) from August 25 to 27, 2017. In due course, a Liverpool B page will be displayed on this website providing further information.
For those who may have booked hotels via ibsaconvention.org for the Manchester convention, we hope to be able to provide information and direction on this page as soon as possible.
We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Other events around this time such as Celine Dion and Radiohead (whoever that is!) have also been cancelled.
