    Hello All:

I know I haven't been on here for a few months. Well, alot has happened in my life! I got a new car. Then, I married Mrs. WingCommander over the summer. Then, Mrs. WingCommander was struck with my armor piercing round, and has told me there is going to be a Jr. WingCommander! Woo-hoo!! :)

So, as it is, we've just completed our move into a brand new hanger! I have to have somewhere to park the family of jets!! :) These holidays are hard for me. I am inactive, but at the same time I know I wouldn't celebrate pagan holidays even if I weren't a JW or not. She wants to know what religion we are going to eventually raise Jr. Wing in, and I'm honestly dumbstruck. What should I do? Growing up in the JW's was hard, but built character I suppose. You find out whom your real friends are that don't care what religion you are when you are a JW and explain to them that you don't celebrate holidays. Then again, today's schools are so diverse, it's not like he'd be the only child who doesn't celebrate holidays. Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, none of them celebrate many holidays or Christmas. To be honest, holidays that have there roots in pagan origins make me sick. And that's not just a JW thing, I think it comes from the fact that I feel that mixing in pagan traditions, no matter how old, is like spitting in God's face and calling it Holy. If it ain't pure, it's evil for sure! lol. :)

I'm really struck too by the society's descision to stop mailing out Watchtowers and Awakes to everyone. How the hell can you preach and reach people if you don't want to send out your own literature?? Besides, what's the BIG SECRET? I don't get it, and it's more than just $$$. People can't save what they don't get, do they? I go to the meetings about 3 times a year. Why do I have to go all the time just to get literature? I suppose I could go once a month. I'd become "non-publisher WingCommander once-a-month meeting attender."

    Hope everyone is well! Thanks,

    Wing Commander :)

Hello there Wing. Sounds like things are going well. Did you know, that generally speaking "pagans" have a much larger view of God, compared to the far more limited beliefs of Christians, Jews and Moslems? Perhaps it is not the pagans who have the expectoration problem. j

Good lord dude. Why worry about what you're going to teach your child about god, when you don't even have a clue why you believe the things you believe about god.

You've got alot of reading to do before your kid starts asking questions that your own damn parents failed so miserably on. Better get to studying.

Oh btw, congrats on the good things going your way. I'm just advocating that you enjoy them along with a touch of wisdom that can only come from learning a little about history.

Hey Wing!!! Glad to hear from you! It sounds like you are having a full and wonderful life. Congratulations on the new little Jr Commander.

I too used to say I would never celebrate a "pagan" holiday. This is my second Christmas, and I have found it to be a wonderful TRADITION. I am not religious and dont bring any religious ties in to it. But it is my favorite time of year. It's a time to focus on family and friends and the good things in life, even more than you do in everyday life. I think it is a great thing to share with children. It creates great memories for the future. You still have plenty of time to decide though.

Best Wishes for you and your new famliy and potential Hanger full of little Jets
