Finding a Penny a Day Thing

    Hi All,

I've mentioned this before here, but I still find it almost unbelievable that I find a penny every day. Today I was taking a walk on the streets around where I live and I just remembered I hadn't found a penny today, and about 30 seconds later, there it was, laying on the street in front of me. It has taken a strange turn lately, for the last three months I have found a dime once each month instead of a penny. No nickels, quarters or dollars.

It's almost too consistant to be coincidence, but I guess it is, what else could it be?

Ken, your post made me smile, as I too, am always finding money....though not every day, probably at least three times a week. Mostly always just one penney. I've also picked up dimes and nickles. I think that people drop change and figure "it's only change", so they just let it go. All my pockets have to be cleared out really good before I do laundry or go to the cleaners, as I tend to leave them in the pocket of whatever I'm wearing.

I always remember an incident when my son was just a baby, now that was about 34 years ago, and I had made the effort to bundle him up and go to one of the nightly meetings.(I was trying so hard to get reinstated, so I wouldn't be responsible for my childs horrible death on Armageddon.) In those days, I didn't work and we really had to scrape to get by. The gas tank was running on empty, as they say. There was snow on the ground, and the wind was blowing. When I got home that night, it was dark for the most part, but in a glimmer of light, I caught something that looked green. When I looked down, it was a $20. bill, sort of clinging to the edge of the curb. There was absolutely no one else around. I picked it up. It was my treasure. To think that it didn't blow away was something else. (I always thought Jehovah sent me that money.)

Something I am dreaming of: finding money but in broad daylight - nope.

Maybe 5 years ago I found Hfl.100,-- just in the street (around $50,--) it was 'nt mine and since I was just a stupid dub by those days, I donated it in the hall.

I find pennies and dimes too, usually in the parking lot of Wal-Mart or the grocery store. Yesterday, I found a 1 dollar bill on the floor in the boys clothes dept. My son was with me and he said : oh yeah, mine, mine mine.... OK, gave it to him. When we got out of the store, the Salvation Army was there, collecting money in their red kettle.... he gave the bill to them !

I wish I found coins everyday. Send some of those pennies here. I have seen people come out of a convience store, and chuck all their change. I have no shame, I pick it up. I use that change with all my other change, and that's how I pay for my family vacation. All coins go into a jar, once a month we roll it and put it in the bank. Once a year we go away. Hey, if people want to contribute to my vacation fund, let them do it.

i have found all manner of money lying on the ground. from pennies to a five dollar bill. twice i was give $100 too much back at banks (though i could not bring myself to keep it). it always makes me wonder just how much money is lying around for the taking at any particular time (not including bottle deposits!). so about a year ago i decided to throw all the money i found lying on the ground into a bowl. there is probably $5-6 by now. someday i will go out to dinner.
