I am so sorry for disappearing in chat...

I am using wood for heat, and had a huge pile by the stove....to dry out....it was wet....

and whilst we were chatting, one of my kittens was playing on the the wood...

and the pile collapsed onto him!!!!

I think he broke a bone. He is screaming........

So that is why I left chat without saying anything......

    OMG.........My poor kitty!!!!

Little Witch I am so sorry to hear about your kitten. That is so painful to experience.

His leg is totally limp. We tried to manipulate it (thinking the hip joint popped out).

No luck.....we may have to well........put him out of his misery.....

I am a mess right now.....I really love him....and wanted him..........

You can speak to an online vet. Before you do anything drastic.

Movement: Trauma, wounds, pain, nerve damage are few of the causes of lameness. Call the vet.

    Thanks Xandria.

Bentley (kitty) is up and about this morning... He is in pain and vocal about it, but is trying to use his leg so I don't think he broke a bone now...

Hopefully he is just bruised....He was the runt and is fragile.

    I hope he will recover.

    Little W,

No worries about leaving chat. I meandered on to other things.

I hope that little kitty is okay - it looks like he is. *whew*

I used to have a wood stove, and learned a few things about how to 'dry wood' rather well. Aluminum foil works miracles in a woodstove environment.

Al foil reflects heat remarkably well. You may want to experiment with it - you will be amazed at the results.

    Regards,

    Jim TX
