I found the baptism talk the most boring talk of the convention. Like wedding and funeral talks, the talk never varied, one size fits all. I would look to see if anyone I knew was getting baptized, the ages, and how many. Then my mind made a quick exit. The fact that I missed the change in the baptism questions in 1985, shows how completely I tuned out.

Never understood the fuss over the outward symbol of the more important event, a change in heart and mind that really only the individual and God were part of. No one clapped at Jesus' baptism. Is a baptism less valid if only the one baptizing you is there?
Isn't it nice to know how "efficient" the WTS is now with these special bathtubs? I wonder if the media knows that these people have now put themselves in the position to be shunned by everyone they know and care about if they disagree with something the WTS teaches, even if 2 years later new light changes the WTS position?
Yes, 500 baptisms is a record in Australia, but a manufactured one as "baptism candidates" put off their baptism until the International Convention to give the impression that this is a great increase. 500 people would have been baptized anyway but over a longer period of time and at more locations.
Why do you have to wait until an assembly/convention? "Here's a body of water, what prevents me from being baptized?"
