For information that is...seems she is asking all of my family about Christmas cards that were sent to them by our family. She goes over to the display of cards at my sister's house and notes - oh this is from you know who...blah blah blah. Then she notices that it just has her apostate daughter husband's signature. Breathes a sigh of relief and says..."at least she's not sending Christmas cards, that would break my heart!"

... and on another thread there was a mini-debate about whether JW ELDERS are judgmental. All JW's are judgmental (if they're being "spiritual"). They must constantly judge whether the actions of those around them are spiritually good or harmful, lest they be influenced and lose out on life everlasting in paradise with all the other JW's.
Anyhow, mom is nosey. Maybe it wouldn't be all bad if her heart WERE broken. Why not just tell her -- that you really DID help send those cards out? Is there any reason for her not to know the real deal? If so -- I retract my comments in this second paragraph.

Excellent point, Mouthy!! You've got all the angles covered.
Why is it that when someone decides not to follow JW's any longer, it's always because SOMEONE ELSE influenced them? Like in TresHappy's case, her mother says she wouldn't be sending x-mas cards if her "evil apostate" husband hadn't influenced her? And in my case, my parents believe I would have come back to "the truth" if my sister hadn't influenced me.
Geez, we've got minds of our own.
Merry Christmas back atcha, TH.

So true. My Mom at first tried to blame my ex for my departure. And, in turn, my sister was all mine and my ex's fault too. As if we all didn't have minds of our own.
For the first time this year, I included my Mom's siblings on my xmas card list. Since I have told her officially that I think it is all a crock, it would no longer come as a shock to her if her sister tells her she got a nice xmas card from me. BUt before that, I was always wary that someone would tell her.

Way to go, Caligirl !! It's more important to share in the spirit of the season with those who DO love and care without "strings attached", then to sadly hold back out of fear. Next year will be a whole lot easier...
