As they are now beginning to admit, the meaning of 'generation' really evades the wt.

Well, here's something for the active jws - the teaching being spiritual, generation refers to a spiritual generation - the spiritual birth and life of a type of people of certain spirit.

So what of the generation of the watchtower? It is said they are very much like the pharisees, spiritually alike. ...... the blood of all the prophets, shed from the foundation of the world......Yes, I tell you, it shall be required of this generation.

Now is that the generation you want to be considered among ?

Great thought. I too, have wondered if the biblical term "generation" might just refer to a "season of mankind", not the actual time span of a human being's life. I believe it's much broader than that. Human beings tend to view everything--even the heavens within their very limited scope and timetable. The universal creators operate under a totally different code.

Most Bible scholars say that the expression "this generation" in the synoptics refers to those who heard Jesus but rejected him, e.g. the Pharisees, the lawyers, the scribes, etc. It doesn't refer to those faithful to Jesus. That would make text rather appropriate to the Pharisee-like WTS.
