The retirement plan where I worked is being controlled by the government. It was insured by a government agency. The company went broke and the gov. agency sent me a letter saying they were going to review my pension amount. They arn't allowed to pay more than the insurance covered. I won't know untill February what difference it will make in my check. I just barely make my expenses now. I just can't stand the idea of going back to work at 68 yrs of age. I may have to cancel all my entertainment including my internet. I'll let you know how it goes.

Very sorry to hear that. You may want to check with your local library. Some of them have internet that provides an hour a day a month for free. Also try Netzero or Juno. Hopefully the news in Feb. will be better than expected though.

My buddy next door will let me use his computer and internet if it comes to that. I let him rent my little house at a very good price and he lives alone. He also lives on Social Security. He loves it there, I feel sorry for him because his wife died a few years ago and it devastated his life. He is coping well now though. He grew up in a religious life much like a JW and understands how it effects you. I trained him at work many years ago to operate a mainframe computer. He has lived in England and his wife was from there. He worked for the US government for several years in some way that he can't reveal the details, it was a secret project of some sort. He has had an interesting life and lived in several countries. We share the same views of life in many ways and have a lot of laughs about it.

Good news! I was talking to a friend who is retired from the same company as I, and he said that only the upper group would be effected, those who who draw many times as much as I. So I guess I will be OK with my little pension of $800 a month, which to me is a good amount.
