OK......this is kind of off topic, considering the 'time of year', but I just picked up Marianne Faithfull's: "KISSIN TIME"

    WOW!

    I love it.

I have loved Marianne Faithfull for many decades, but love this CD.

I picked it up last night, and well.....it's great.

Anyone remember the song by "Herman's Hermit's" "Something Good" ?

It was written by Carole King btw. She is a lyric goddess. WOW.

Anyone have any CD recommendations last minute before the strike of midnight on December 24?

This Marianne Faithfull CD, is on repeat.....4X already.

Thanks to England for a real killer chick.

***PS: To add, she's originally from Hampstead, England.

There was some good music back then in spite of it being demonized as "hippie" danger.

My suggestion - Blue Oyster Cult's "Curse of the Hidden Mirror" (actually anything by BOC).

I like that Marianne Faithful song "Why'd Ya Do It" LOL!

It's early in the a.m. here in eastern North America.

Just put on, Marianne Faithfull's "Kissin Time" and still.....I find it an incredible album.

Contributing performers: Beck and Billy Corgan.

    Great songs .

You've taken me back in time here, Ray! Yeah, I remember the song - real catchy, and I also remember them. They did a tour of Oz and came to my department of where I was working at the time to get us to help them with the necessary government permits to get their concert proceeds transferred to the UK. At the time it seemed a little strange that here in our office were these pop stars asking for their money!

I also was a fan of Marianne's, she was so ........ well, gorgeous!

    Cheers, Ozzie

According to the Hollies they wrote the song Carrie-Anne for Marianne Faithfull. They were too shy to call it Marianne though. I named my daughter after the song Carrie-Anne. What did you think of Marianne recording with Metallica and making the video? I really liked the song. Her voice was always beautiful and she and her voice have aged gracefully into something very spicy, comforting and nice. Still beautiful as well.
