Dave and I saw this movie yesterday. Really, really good. He went with me, kicking and screaming "chick flick, chick flick", but he relented and said it wasn't really that at all, and he enjoyed it very much.
I loved it, and asked my mother questions about the time frame today. I was only 8 in 1953 so was unaware of a lot of the problems women faced, like birth control availability. She was very enlightening on that subject too, and told me it was against the law in many states, and especially for unmarried women to get it. Their parents had to approve it.
Julia Roberts is just the best actress, and you had to HATE Kirsten Dunst's character. What a bitch!
Anyone else see this one?
