Do you ever have feelings of regret about the number of people you helped into "the Troof"?
Well, here's some encouragement. I'll call it "What goes around, comes around"
Ya see, this morning (Boxing Day) Mrs Ozzie and I received a long phone call from a lady who introduced herself by saying, "You may not know me, but I certainly remember you!"
Who could it be? I was happy that someone had taken the trouble to track me down and let me know of their walk on the road to freedom, but who was it?
She let me know that she had tracked me down through the ex-dub channels in South Australia who'd informed her of the ex-Bethel helpers in New South Wales.
So far so good....but who was she?
She wanted to let me know of the impact of the "Sunday" program. It had led to her own questioning but also that of her husband.
She also let me know that her Presiding overseer had resigned over the issue and was visiting for Bible study. No longer were they going to accept the WTS in the place of Christ. They'd done much reading (thanks, Randy!) and were eager for more.
But who was she?
To digress: many, many years ago I studied with a young man and he became a baptised Dub. It was a particularly difficult situation and the man has always been 'on my mind'. Ya see, he's intelligent, he came from a "divided household" and yet I'd helped him take up a faith that was opposed by his father.
But who was the woman who called us?
It was the former wife of the man I'd studied with!
We talked for a long, long time and she let me know that she has written to her former husband apologising for opposong him when he expressed doubts about "the organisation". Is there hope for him, too? You bet!
So, if you've ever worried about all those you led to the WTS, take heart, things may work out well in the end!
Cheers, Ozzie
