This Site is Evidence: The WT Faces Doom

When the internet was a novelty, sites like H2O sprung up featuring lengthy, detailed discussions about Watchtower doctrine.

Every aspect of Witness belief was debated - and throughly refuted. The Gentile Times, Blood, Parousia and the name 'Jehovah'

were examined and the Watchtower ideology was cut to pieces.

Now, in the next stage of this development, Witness doctrine means almost nothing. It's just window dressing to support

a general idolatry by Witnesses of their exalted 'organization'. Little popular interest is expressed by aggrieved publishers

who venture into 'apostate territory' like this. Curious Witnesses are seeking something else, generally....

Now, we find Witnesses leaving or burning out because the organization lacks love, compassion, and honesty. We find

spiritual exhaustion, anger and discontent generated by the lack of charity, hard-heartedness, and disinterest in justice.

    And that's a good change....

Because with the smokescreen of doctrine fading away, the organization will be JUDGED by the Ultimate Standard:

Love - or the lack of it

And that's a fight they can't win. Not with the "Boss" in charge!

Things certainly have changed. It wasn't that long ago that JWs actually had doctrine, and were willing to discuss (argue) it. The internet in its current form has only been around about a decade but has already claimed a major scalp in providing the tools to dismantle the facade that the Tower was a doctrine based religion. It's now on the back foot and has to fall on "plan B" - no longer able to win converts, they retain their hold over the remaining sheep and their children by coercion - the threat of the loss of family and friends.

But even that power that they hold is weakening. There are more ex-Dubs than Dubs these days. Those who leave or are thrown out now have somewhere to go and friends on the outside. Their exercise of plan B on a dwindling population is what it all hinges on now. Their rules will just get harsher and harsher to the point either where even those still loyal will give up under the pressure, or where the rules become such an apparent breach of human rights that governments and the courts will be forced to step in (or both).

Phase 3 will be something that's been debated long and often here: either the Tower will lighten up and reform, becoming more mainstream, or it will simply collapse in on itself. Which of these will be the case is still anybody's guess.

Metatron's right, at the end of the day. Once proud of its doctrine, the 'Tower has had to fall back on meaningless platitudes in its stead, such as "the happiest people on Earth", "fine provision from Jehovah's table", and "paradise soon". It's amazing what can happen in a few years...

So, do you guys think that the WT is in a 'Critical Mass' type scenario? When do you think they might hit CM?

I hope that when (if?)they do, they implode in a puff of ash.

As far as them lightening up on doctrine....I would appreciate someone explaining that a little clearer.

Just HOW are they lightening up? In their magazine articles? In their public talks?

If you are saying they do not write articles in the publications or have assembly parts that deal with doctrine like they used to....then I don't know....I've gotten behind on the general "feel for them" as I once had.

Here is a question. If the numbers do start to decline, either slowly or quickly. Wont they then claim Love of the greater number cooling off. Now we must work harder, pray more, do more.

I may have miss understood this love of greater number thing, but that's what I always thought it meant. In the end, less and less people will love God. If I am understand wrong, can someone explain. And if I am right, don't you think they would say that.

this is a deep post, for i recall as well when i first hit the alittle over 7yrs ago, it was FIGHT TO THE DEATH OVER DOGMAS

today most jw posters don't even debate, beyond YOU NEED TO COME BACK TO JAH- lines

i recall when the web site called SHUAN was first being put together and many of the other other sites, randy watters, keeping an eye on wt and many many others,

they have sliced and dice and catalogged all of wt flip flops, goofy dogmas, etc- i was just looking thru my personal archives and i could not believe the ton of stuff i have acuumulated-

your post my friend reminds me of field service

there was a time when you would get a THROW DOWN BATTLE OVER --- HELL, CHRISTMAS , Trinity, gods name, etc from folks in the field, now most folks in service are like WELL if that is what you believe cool - THE AVG jw has not had a real BIBLE TO BIBLE CHALLENGE IN a good 10-15 yrs-

most jw have not opened thier bibles in the door to door work in years, merely:

"Good AM my name is Leroy and we are offering the lastest copies of the wt"

that is the extent of most jw if they can find someone

we used to work apt complexes on sat AM with 500 cars parked in the lot and come out with 499 NOT AT HOMES

It's the "work harder" dogma that will kill off the congs in the end - there won't be any room for love as the workload keeps getting rachetted up, knotch after knotch.

Precisely! A decade ago, you could have a good opld fashioned ding-dong, knock down and drag out round of "BIBLE TO BIBLE CHALLENGE " with the witnesses, and they usually knew their Bibles well enough to keep up, or at least they weren't afraid to open it like they now are.

NOW----JWs are told that if someone questions them----NOT----to cast your pearls before swine. If a person says, "I was reading on the internet..." a witness is supposed to get out of there as quick as possible. There has not been any meaningful proof for years why we're supposed to believe in what is taught. Just accept it and rely on Jah. That doesn't cut it anymore. That is insulting.
