If the Watchtower and all the publications are such "life saving" materials from "god's earthly organization" why don't they put them on the web? Any thoughts on this? Have you asked any loyal dubs why and what answers have you gotten? The WTBS has never addressed this.

I've been told they are afraid that apostates will get them and alter the text.
I can remember before the WT-CD days, many JWs had scanned the bound volumes and were offering them online to other JWs. Although the WT had discouraged it strongly, many still did it, many elders (I know cause I saw it). The concern then according to the WTS was they could not assure the "integrity" of the material. Since the elders and rank and file were persisting, it forced the WTS to come out with the CD. That's my theory.

Around 95. It did take a long time. They could have sent it on floppies too. I can remember them showing me on their computer implying that I could not have it because I wasn't an elder. I was not very into technology then, not that I am now. It takes me 2 days to learn a new function on any software I have.

The WTS must discourage internet use at every opportunity, for that is the best way to find out the truth behing the Watchtower.

You don't need to alter the text ... it is just rediculous and if you post parts of their own literature it shows enough of the WTS intention. As far as i found only old publication is found on the internet (regards to copyright).

The simple reason they don't freely distribute their materials on the 'net is because it is impossible for a human-led organization to keep their story straight after writing billions of lines of drivel. Better to freely distribute
Kingdom Proclaimers/volunteers/ flesh-and-blood door-to-door salesmen and keep a tight fist on the literature.Here is a nice collection of some of the contradictions.
