Having grown up in the borg, I cannot recall anyone naming their child Jesus. Biblical names are commonly used by JW's but not Jesus which is a very common name amoung Latinos (Hispanics).
Does anyone know of a family in the borg that named their son Jesus ? And if not, I wonder why not ?

I used to know this guy in a congregation in Florida named Israel.
i know a non jw called jesus and many muslims called isa, which is the muslim name for jesus, no jw's though.

yes. I knew/know a family by the name Ventura; the father is an elder, mother pioneer, and they had the bookstudy in their home. their eldest son is named Jesus.
Jesus is very very common among Hispanics and Arabs/Muslims (Isa). Israel is also common among Hispanics.
So who wants to have the grand privilege of being the first to name their child after Saint Elsewhere?
I have known some Hispanic JWs that named their sons Jesus (Hay-soos). I have never met an Anglo family with a son named Jesus nor an Anglo JW family which is probably why not. Not common among anglos. It is a function of culture rather than religion.

Guess it was just the Hispanics that I was associated with. Lots named Josè (Joseph), Pablo (Paul), Pedro (Peter), Juan (John), etc. etc. But it's strange that personally I never knew a dub family naming the child Jesus.
Oh well, must have been a local thing where I grew up.

You know how we know God is Spanish?
Why else would he name his son Jesus (Hay-SOOS)?
