In the mirror, it looks different

I was getting my hair cut the other day, and the man seemed to be older and wiser then the normal youthful people I get in this profession. So I decided, this would be a good person to take advice from on how to raise my children. Then the other day, while walking threw the mall, I saw an man picking up some trash and realized he was a janitor. At once I decided, this is the person I need to talk to about the problems in my sex life. Not even a day later, a man was mowing my yard and trimming my trees, and I was overwhelmed with the need to confess to him my sins and ask for forgiveness. Yet in all these, I was most drawn to the retired man, who never held a job over three years and had no higher education, to make the ultimate decision on who I should marry.

Kind of weird sounding, isn't it? Well you did this as a Witness, why not now? Heck, I took advice from some of the most unintelligent people in the world and never met an elder who really had a lick of education to brag about. Yes, some were older and wiser, and some dogs get calmer and easier to get along with in their older years too. In all though, I do not look in the yellow pages at Janitor, Yard Worker, Barber, and retirement homes, when I need advice or help in this world. I just have a hard time believing I used to. It is really kind of funny, now.

LOL... I know what you mean. Part of the reason I left the JWs has to do with science. My parents ask me why I haven't talked to the elders about it. The elders in my hall were great guys, but not really into science.

Of course...the reason they can dispense such wonderful counsel is because they have Jah's spirit.

Good point spiritwalker, but I wonder who has the answers to those questions of life? I don't think anyone knows what is best for someone else. We all have different needs, different personalities, different lives, different views of life. I don't trust anyone to know all the answers. I do know there are many things I could have done that would have changed things for the better, at least I think so, but how could I be sure?

You see why I chose my screen name? I'm still undecided about so many things. Maybe I should have listened to someone else.
