Singer/Songwriter: Randy VanWarmer Dies at 48

I was so surprised to read this. I remember this singer/songwriter: Randy VanWarmer. He recorded that huge hit in 1979: "Just When I Needed You Most".
I was a loyal little dubbie back then. I remember the first time I heard that song was in the spring of 1979, driving to a Special Talk in Moncton, New Brunswick.

He was only 48, and apparently, died of leukemia.
He was quite the prolific songwriter, having written some huge hits for many other bands.

That is sad, Ray. I wouldn't have remembered who he was until you mentioned Just When I Needed You Most. I remember that song. He was only three years older than me. Sad, sad, thanks for sharing.

Yes, I read about his death also. I remember that song...still gets played every now and then on the oldies station.

I loved that song. I have a 45 I think. 48 is tooooo young to die.
