yeah, hit them over the head with a hammer. That would hurt less, than joining the borg.
Now on a serious note. How old is she? How long has she been dating. Is their relationship a serious one.

If they have not been brain-washed yet, show them the information you are finding on the internet.
Once they have their "apost-o-shields" in place they are lost.
Try showing them a site like http://quotes.jehovahswitnesses.com/

Tell her to visit this site to get a critical viewpoint of the religion that she will NEVER get from JWs.

Oh and if the JWs find out she is thinking of visiting a site like this or talking to other people about JWs they will most likely use an analogy like "If you wanted to learn about Jews, would you ask a Nazi?" or "If you want to learn about Basketball, would you talk to a golfer? No? Then if you want to learn about JWs you should talk to JWs."
A better analogy would be, if you were about to buy a brand new car and you found a website of unhappy customers...wouldn't you want to hear what they have to say?

I too used to try and "dissuad" active jws, on and offline. I'd do this in many dynamic ways and with many 'tools' I discovered on and offline.
Today I like to use and apply the word "educate" rather than "dissuad". Try it yourself and see what type of results you yield.
The best way to educate is to study. Study for yourself what it is you would like to educate one on. Such as using search engines that will guide you to many key items.
Most of the engines will take you here though: www.freeminds.org as it is the most informative and has actual documents. Rado's site is key too: www.watchtowerinformationservice.org These sites then have many other links that will continue to guide you on the educational path.
Here are a few items I put together as an easy access guide to weblinks for lurkers and those such as yourself (inquiring minds) for yahoo chatters:
The Watchtower’s Investments in Warfare Technology: (http://www.geocities.com/wtgreed/article.htm ) [edited out one link]
CHILD ABUSE IN JW CHURCH: (www.silentlambs.org)
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/58847/1.ashx
http://www.freeminds.org
http://www.intrex.net/talley/WT_Enter.htmlThere is much to be studied so get busy!! Happy trails!!
