What really impresses me and what I enjoy most about this board is the common bond or foundation we all have. Yet when you look at the avatars or read the profiles you find that we are all so different. Different races, geographical location, and personalties. Yet in two recent threads (homeless and bed wetting) so many us went through a horrible experience thanks to the Org. I find especially common are the stories of those of us that were raised as Jw's.

Just want to thank all of you for your stories and making me feel better.

You know there is an ex-JW group that is called "A Common Bond" I have been a member for about 4 years now, however its for former and current members of Jehovah's Witnesses who are gay or lesbian, bi or transgendered. You would be amazed how many of us there are!

Yes, I just found out about this group about a month or two ago and I have really enjoyed getting to know the people here.

Hey Freddy, I know how you feel! After years of feeling alone (especially with the homeless/bedwetting thing) it's amazing to find that so many people have had the same experiences!!! This board gives me so much comfort, I know I'm a different person for having found this place!! Thank goodness my sister showed it to me, it's made all the difference!!! Glad to have you here, by the way!

Yes Freddy. That is what makes boards like this so popular, and why people just hang around. Non jws just don't get it, just as other non whatevers, don't understand the whatevers who join support groups, which in reality, is what this place this.

I can relate. I've been away from the Org for over 25 years. It took me years to get over some of my screwed up ideas, partly because most of my family are still jws. I've still not worked up the courage to actually tell my story here on the board, but I'm thinking about doing it soon.
