Just a simple observation ,the WT used to say that their was an initial fullfilment of Bible prophecy and a later fullfilment for our day and that they mirrowed each other.

Do they still say much of the same thing ?

The initial fullfilment of matt.24:34 took place in well under 50 years from when Jesus gave this prophecy , A (one ) generation .

No overlapping of a generation occured then ,so none should occur in a later fullfilment of prophecy.

Their is no room in scripture , in the first Century of an overlapping generation of the initial fullfilment of Jesus prophecy.

    No such thing occured .

I agree!! The already fulfilled thing was what I first found on properly reading the [slaughter] book till I worked out it was all mumbo jumbo. Least the original generation was under 50 years --the new one just keeps giving and giving

They self proclaimed that they are the modern day prophetic preachers of the Gospel chosen by Jesus from 1919, from him taking position of his heavenly throne in 1914.

The (This) generation that will see and experience his fulfillment of his new earthly kingdom.

Of course this was just theological baloney which the leaders cooked upon themselves as a means of self validation and alluring procurement of followers, followers which they would exploit in the literature proliferation and distribution agenda. kind of a superficial marketing ploy.

    Smiddy,

Just a simple observation ,the WT used to say that their was an initial fullfilment of Bible prophecy and a later fullfilment for our day and that they mirrowed each other.

That's called, "Typology" and it is a time worn interpretational method popular among Christian faiths that believe the Bible is a single contiguous work from cover to cover.

From top to bottom, the JW faith is based on typology, so even though they don't use the traditional terms, "Type" and "Antitype" anymore, they can't get away from it.

Where, for example, do the JW notions of a "Time of the End" and a "Great Tribulation" come from? Why do they call themselves, "Jehovah's Witnesses?" Why is the meaning of the term, "Generation" even an issue?

Their is no room in scripture , in the first Century of an overlapping generation of the initial fullfilment of Jesus prophecy.

Exactly. Breaking the pattern yanks the rug out from under the whole idea.
